Inseparable from the Flow
Everything You Need to Hear This Morning
Hey there, beautiful soul,
How are you showing up today?
Truly, from your heart. Are you frazzled? Racing from one thing to the next? I’ve been there too, friend. We all have.
Before we continue - If you found this post helpful, would you please consider restacking it and sharing it with your audience?
This spreads the word and keeps me writing content that will help you grow your Substack and build a life you love waking up to. 🙏
The Gift of This Moment
the only real moment is here and now. I know, I know—it sounds like something printed on a coffee mug.
From the second we wake up, there’s this part of us—let’s call it the seeking self—that’s already off to the next thing.
The next coffee, the next email, the next dopamine hit. This part of us keeps whispering, “It’ll be better when...” or “I just need to get through this, then...”
But what if we paused? What if, just for this breath, we let things be exactly as they are?
The Power of Loving What Is
the only real suffering we experience comes from wanting things to be different than they are. Circumstances themselves are just as they are, our resistance is the one causing all the trouble.
When have you felt most at peace? I’d bet it was when you surrendered into acceptance, when you stopped pushing against the current and just... floated.
So let’s get clear on something liberating: there’s really only one thing within our power to control—ourselves. Our actions. Our perspective. The way we choose to see the world and ourselves in it.
Everything else? Other people’s reactions, the weather, unexpected plot twists, how the market behaves—that’s the universe doing its dance. And we get to choose: do we dance with it, or do we exhaust ourselves trying to choreograph the whole show?
This Vegan Asian Linguine is a perfect balance of comfort and freshness — silky noodles tossed with sautéed leeks, onions, and garlic, bright asparagus, and kale ribbons, all kissed with soy sauce, sesame oil, and a squeeze of lemon. Finished with creamy vegan parmesan, it’s the kind of weeknight meal that feels restaurant-level but comes together in minutes.

The Beautiful Filter
When something bothers you, run it through this filter:
“Is this within my control, or beyond it?”
And here’s the magic—you’ll almost always land back on your perception. The shift in how you’re looking at it.
Maybe you need to look at it from the side, from above, through someone else’s eyes, through the trees’ perspective, through the lens of love.
Your power lives in that shift.
Meeting Life with Your Whole Heart
You are inseparable from the flow of nature, friend. The way you breathe is the same intelligence that moves the stars, grows the trees, and guides the wind. You’re not separate from any of it—you’re woven into the fabric of everything.
And from that place of connection? You have unlimited potential. You have all the creativity in the cosmos flowing through you. Out of that centeredness comes this vibrant, confident, purposeful version of you that’s here to serve and shine.
What does that look like for you today?
You can start by imagining: How do I want to move through this day? Not in an aggressive, bulldozing way, but peaceful. Unbothered. Above the chaos. You become the eye of the storm—centered, grounded, present.
The Space Between
Here’s something I learned when I was working through my own relationship with alcohol: everything changes when you insert space.
When you feel that urge to react—to snap back, to reach for the old pattern, to shut down—take one breath. Just one. Project a calm smile. Watch what’s happening inside you like a curious scientist.
That space? That’s where your freedom lives. That’s where reaction transforms into response. That’s where you save yourself from so much unnecessary heartache.
I practiced this with my hand literally reaching for the bottle. I watched it. I redirected it—to a kettlebell, to a yoga mat, to a guitar. Not because those things were “better,” but because I was choosing consciously instead of reacting automatically.
Your Core Beliefs Are Your Raft
What do you believe about yourself, my friend? Really.
Do you see yourself as honorable? Strong? Ready to embrace whatever comes? Because here’s the thing: your cells, your systems, your entire being follows your command. You’re the general of this beautiful army you call yourself.
Stand tall on your raft of core beliefs. You are unlimited. You are capable. You are exactly where you need to be, becoming exactly who you’re meant to become.
The Question That Opens Everything
If all your chores were done, all your bills paid, all your obligations met—what would be left?
What would you do with that space? Paint? Dance? Connect more deeply with people you love? Learn pottery? Run that marathon?
Here’s the secret: you don’t need to wait. You can choose those things now when you prioritize what’s truly essential.
The things you’ll remember ten years from now aren’t the emails you answered or the errands you ran. They’re the moments of connection. The memories. The times you said yes to your heart.
Rebel cheese in Austin, this Sammie is one of the best, Caramelized onions, vegan meat and cheese and you good to go 🙌
Everything is Impermanent (And That’s Beautiful)
Nothing lasts forever—not the challenges, not the joy, not even this body. And in that impermanence is such freedom. We don’t have to grip so tightly. We can hold everything—people, circumstances, even our identity—with an open palm.
When we pause, we create space to respond with grace. We get to ask ourselves: “Am I being fearful, or am I being courageous?” And then we get to choose.
What’s Really in Your Heart?
I want to invite you to get vulnerable with yourself today. What’s in your heart that you haven’t even admitted to yourself? What do you want so deeply that your ego immediately talks you out of it, calling it absurd or impractical?
That thing? That’s what matters most.
Your heart knows. It’s been whispering to you all along. And everything—I mean everything—is possible. There’s nothing you cannot be, do, or have when you align with that truth.
So today, my dear friend, I’m inviting you to pause. To choose center over chaos. To meet everything with understanding and grace. To remember that you are connected to something infinitely larger and more beautiful than you can imagine.
You are the Buddha nature. You are divine consciousness in motion. You are exactly enough, exactly as you are, while simultaneously becoming more with every breath.
Make pure thy heart by washing away anything that doesn’t serve your highest self. By choosing love over fear. By inserting space before reacting. By dancing with life instead of fighting it.
You’ve got this. You’ve always had this.
With so much love and belief in you,
Your friend on the path
P.S. — What’s one thing you’re going to pause and observe today? I’d love to hear what shifts for you. Reply and let me know—I read every message.
